ClipScope is a browser extension that helps users view information about the TikTok video currently open in their browser and save an accessible video source when the user requests a download. This Privacy Policy explains what the extension processes and how it is handled.<\/p>\n
1. Information processed by the extension
\nVideo and page information
\nWhen ClipScope is used on a TikTok page, it may read information that is already available in the page, such as the video title, author, video identifier, view count, like count, comment count, share count and an accessible media URL. This information is processed in the browser to display the on-page panel, keep it synchronized when the user changes videos and prepare a user-requested download. ClipScope does not send this information to a ClipScope server or sell it to advertisers.<\/p>\n
Local preferences
\nClipScope stores the interface language and related extension preferences in Chrome extension storage. These settings remain on the user\u2019s browser and are not used to build a profile.<\/p>\n
Downloads
\nA download starts only after the user clicks the download control. The selected source is saved to the location managed by Chrome. ClipScope does not receive or retain the downloaded file.<\/p>\n
Information we do not collect
\nClipScope does not request TikTok login credentials, collect passwords, read unrelated tabs, sell personal information or use third-party advertising or tracking analytics. The extension does not maintain user accounts.<\/p>\n
2. How information is used
\nTo show statistics and metadata for the current TikTok video.
\nTo update the panel when the user moves to another video.
\nTo copy the current video URL when the user requests it.
\nTo prepare a local download from a source made available by the page when the user clicks Download.
\nTo remember the user\u2019s selected interface language and local preferences.
\n3. Permissions
\nClipScope requests only the permissions needed for these features:<\/p>\n
activeTab: access the active TikTok tab when the user uses ClipScope controls.
\nHost access to TikTok: read page-provided video data and media requests and keep the panel synchronized.
\nscripting: run the bundled content scripts that render the panel and observe the current video.
\ndownloads: save a source selected by the user through Chrome\u2019s download manager.
\nstorage: save language and local extension preferences.
\n4. Third-party websites and links
\nClipScope operates on TikTok pages, and TikTok may process information under its own privacy policy. ClipScope may also provide user-initiated links to the publisher\u2019s website, WhatsApp or other contact services. Those services are controlled by their respective providers and have their own privacy policies. ClipScope does not send information to those services unless the user chooses to open a link.<\/p>\n
5. Data retention and security
\nBecause ClipScope is designed to process video information in the browser, the publisher does not retain a copy of that information on a server. Local preferences remain in Chrome until the user clears extension data or uninstalls the extension. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, but ClipScope limits processing to the browser and requests only the permissions described above.<\/p>\n
6. Children\u2019s privacy
\nClipScope is not directed to children under 13, and the publisher does not knowingly collect personal information from children.<\/p>\n
7. Copyright and authorized use
\nUsers are responsible for respecting TikTok\u2019s terms, copyright, privacy rights and other applicable laws. Download and use only content that you own or are authorized to save. ClipScope does not bypass access controls, guarantee availability of a media source or promise removal of watermarks.<\/p>\n
8. Changes to this policy
\nThis Privacy Policy may be updated when ClipScope\u2019s features or legal requirements change. The updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date.<\/p>\n
